Divers Perform Well Again At Notre DameDec. 2, 2005
NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee diving team again posted a solid effort at the Notre Dame Diving Invitational Friday night, earning four top-six finishes in the two events. Erin Blemberg led the women with a third-place finish, while Jeff Jasinowski headed up efforts on the men's side with a fourth-place finish. The invitational at Notre Dame includes both swimming and diving events, though the Panthers are competing in only the diving events. Blemberg's efforts came in the one-meter event, where she tallied 281.60 points in the final after collecting 275.55 in the preliminaries. She finished just off the pace of second-place finisher Jessica Leong of Southern Illinois (282.00 points). Both divers finished behind Kelsey Patterson of Utah's 305.30 points. Blemberg was one of three Panther women to earn a place in the finals. Crystal Szymanski tallied 264.90 points to finish fourth in the event, while Emily Duesler collected 258.90 points to claim fifth place. Jenna Kotlarz and Megan McLoone also competed in the preliminary portion of the competition for UWM. On the men's side, Jasinowski continues his strong effort this season with a fourth-place finish in the three-meter event. He tallied 335.80 points in the final after collecting 299.90 points in the preliminaries. Kyle Luska and Corey Kupfer also competed in the preliminary portion of the competition for UWM.
