Nov. 30, 2007
OXFORD, Ohio - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee diving teams competed at the Miami (OH) Invitational Friday, opening the meet with women's three-meter and men's one-meter diving. Despite competing with just its diving team at the invitational, the women sit in 13th place out of 16 teams and the men are in 11th place out of 13. Junior Ashley Hall highlighted the night for the Panthers, winning the three-meter competition with a season-high point total of 296.05. Not only was it good enough for the victory, but it gave Hall another NCAA Zone-qualifying score. Milwaukee had five other divers in the action, but Hall was the only one to make the finals. Freshman Lauren Roy was the top finisher for UWM in the preliminaries, taking 10th with 215.20. Sophomore Rachel Grimm was 14th with 202.20, freshman Kelsey George 19th at 193.20, senior Megan McLoone 22nd at 186.45 and freshman Michelle Kornder 23rd overall with a 177.05 point total. The diving team wraps up the weekend tomorrow with women's one-meter and men's three-meter action, with preliminaries in the morning and finals starting at 8 p.m.
