Panther Women Complete Day One Of Doug Coers Invitational

MUNCIE, Ind. - Sophomore Lindsay Caldwell posted a second-place finish and swam with a pair of top-three relays to lead the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's swimming & diving team on day one of the Doug Coers Invitational, Friday evening in Muncie. The meet, hosted by Ball State University, concludes on Saturday. Caldwell swam the 50 freestyle in 24.64 to take second place, missing out on first by 0.07 seconds. She also competed with the second-place 200 free relay and third-place 400 medley relay. In the 200 free relay, she teamed with sophomores Heather Sawatzki and Bridget Fargen, as well as freshman Kristin Skiba for a time of 1:40.87. The Panthers also took third in the 400 medley relay, as Caldwell, Sawatzki and Skiba were joined by junior Emily Holcomb in posting a time of 4:02.78. Sawatzki added a fourth-place finish in the 200 individual medley, while freshman Emma McKeith swam to a seventh-place finish in the 500 free on the day. Sawatzki completed her event in 2:16.19 and McKeith swam a time of 5:16.84. Milwaukee closes out the Doug Coers Invitational on Saturday at 8 a.m. Joining the Panthers in the field are the host Cardinals, Butler University, Valparaiso University, Marshall University and Baldwin-Wallace College.
