DAYTON, Ohio - Junior Ashley Hall took first place in both diving events and junior Molly Finn won the 200 butterfly Friday, highlighting the efforts of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's swimming & diving team against Wright State. The Raiders won the remaining events in the meet, topping the Panthers, 144-95.

"This is a tough road trip for us [UWM competes each day this weekend] and they outswam us tonight," Milwaukee head coach Dave Griffore said. "Luckily it's early enough in the season where it doesn't hurt us and will give us a chance to get back to work and learn from it."

Hall, the reigning Horizon League Diver of the Week, was the big winner for UWM on the night, placing first in both the one and three-meter diving events. She scored 239.47 points on the one to lead a one-two-three finish for Milwaukee. Senior Megan McLoone took second (228.22) and sophomore Rachel Grimm was third (219.75). On the three, Hall won with 261.75 points with Grimm (216.45) taking second.

"It is good to have her competing," Griffore said of Hall, the transfer who had to sit out last season. "We are getting exactly what we were looking for from her."

Finn recorded the victory in the 200 fly, finishing in 2:08.13 to take first by almost four seconds. She also placed second in the 200 IM, touching the wall in 2:12.75.

The Panthers also received second-place finishes from sophomore Bailey Nennig and freshmen Suzy Paasch and Ellie Gross.

Nennig was second in the 200 breaststroke in a time of 2:30.03. Paasch was second in the 500 freestyle, recording a time of 5:21.22. In addition to taking second in the 200 freestyle in a time of 1:59.13, Gross was third in the 500 free.

The team continues its trip by swimming at Eastern Michigan Saturday, starting at 11 a.m. CST.
