Szymanski Makes Finals On Day Two Of Zone Diving MeetMarch 3, 2007
ANN ARBOR, Mich. - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's diving team placed one diver in the finals Saturday on day two of the 2007 NCAA Zone C Diving Qualifying Meet. The second day of competition featured women's one-meter diving. After reaching the finals by taking seventh place in the preliminaries, senior Crystal Szymanski placed 11th overall, ending with 492.50 points after recording a total of 239.40 in the finals portion of the event. She was also the top finisher from the Horizon League. Senior Emily Duesler just missed finals for the second-straight day, placing 20th in preliminaries with a score of 223.85. She missed finals by less than five points, as 18th had a 228.65 total. "It was just an amazing performance and I am very happy with how the weekend went," UWM diving coach Todd Hill said. "For both of them to do as well as they did at a meet like this is just a great way to end their UWM careers." The Zone Diving Championships conclude the season for the Milwaukee women.
