BROWN DEER, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's swimming and diving team broke four school records over three events to sit in second place on day one of the 2005 Horizon League Championships, Wednesday evening in Brown Deer, Wis. The host Panthers trail in-state foe, UW-Green Bay, 115-107, for top honors at the meet heading into day two.

Milwaukee's record-breaking day got started in the 200 freestyle relay, when sophomore Lindsay Caldwell broke her own 50 free school mark, with a time of 23.14, to pace the relay corps to school-record time of 1:36.36. She broke her own mark of 23.94, and the league mark of 23.77, before sophomore Bridget Fargen and freshmen Jessica Kelly and Kristin Skiba finished the job, taking third. McKeith established the school and freshman record of 10:31.47 to take fifth, while sophomore Susan Harmsen placed fifth in 10:35.17. Senior Cathy Honeyager fell just shy of the former 10:37.27 standard held by Jen Kedinger, taking eighth in 10:37.82. Freshman Michal Hawker also scored in the event, taking 12th in 10:46.71.

Wednesday's session ended with UWM's second record-breaking relay, as the 200 medley relay took third in 1:46.77. The former mark had been 1:47.95.

The meet's first day also featured the preliminaries of the three-meter diving.
