Graczyk earns All-America honors from Soccer BuzzMILWAUKEE, Wis. (Dec. 15, 2006) - Junior Ginny Graczyk of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's soccer team was named a third-team All-American by Soccer Buzz in the latest round of post-season awards announced today. In addition to her national honor, Graczyk was one of three players named to Academic All-Region teams by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. The NSCAA also honored the Panthers with a national team academic award. Graczyk was named to the NSCAA's Academic All-Region First Team, while senior Stacey Faude was named to the third team and junior Joanna Severson earned honorable mention honors. As a team, the UWM women boast a cumulative team grade point average of 3.46 and were one of 231 teams to earn the award. All NSCAA academic awards encompass all levels of collegiate competition. Graczyk is UWM's first All-American since 1985 when Becky Worman was named a second-team All-American by NAIA. Also an Academic All-American Second Team member by ESPN The Magazine, Graczyk has maintained a 3.87 grade point average as a psychology/health sciences major. She played every minute of every game for the Panthers this season, anchoring their record-setting defense as a central defender. Milwaukee also had a pair of Freshman All-Americans last season in Erin Kane and Sarah Teegarden. Faude started 21-of-22 matches this season for UWM and finished with two goals and two assists for six points. She is a biology major with as 3.67 GPA. Severson, meanwhile, joined Graczyk as an Academic All-District First Team member earlier this season and is an accounting/finance major with a 3.94 GPA. On the field, she started all 22 games at outside defender and added three goals on the year, including a pair of game-winners.
