Graczyk Named To All-Region First team By NSCAAMILWAUKEE, Wis. (Dec. 16, 2005) - Sophomore Ginny Graczyk of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's soccer team has been named to the All-Region First Team by the National Soccer Coaches' Association of America (NSCAA), the organization announced Thursday. Graczyk is the first Panther to earn all-region first team honors since Erin Blaedow in 2001. As a central defender, Graczyk played every minute of every game, anchoring a defense that tied a school record with 13 shutouts and posted the second-best goals against average in school history (0.60). The squad also finished 11th in the nation with a shutout percentage of 0.59 (13 SO/22 games) and 17th in GAA. The Libertyville, Ill., native was an all-league first team honoree and finished with five points on a game-winning goal and three assists. The honors continue to compound for Graczyk, as she has also been named to the Horizon League All-Tournament Team, Academic All-League Team and ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District First Team this season. She headlines a list of players returning next season from this year's 12-5-5 squad. UWM won its sixth-straight league regular season title, fourth league tourney and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the first time in team history. Also returning are first team honorees freshman goalkeeper Erin Kane and freshman midfielder Sarah Teegarden. Another piece of the vaunted Panther defense, second-team honoree sophomore Amanda Winn will also be back for Milwaukee.
