MILWAUKEE-The UWM women's soccer team announced the team's post-season awards at their annual banquet on Sunday.

Senior defender Fanta Cooper (Oklahoma City, Okla./Westmoore) received the team MVP and also the Laura Moynihan award, junior midfielder Erin Blaedow (West Allis, Wis./Central) received the Susan Moynihan award, freshman goalkeeper Kerri St. Aubin (Sterling Heights, Mich./Utica) was UWM's Newcomer of the Year, and freshman forward Megan Mann (Muskego, Wis./Muskego) took home the Most Improved Player award.

Cooper, who also won the MCC Co-Player of the Year award and was honored on the All-MCC first team, MCC All-Tournament team, and All-Region second team, paced a Panther defense that shutout three conference opponents and six opponents overall. As the team's co-captain, Blaedow tallied six goals and was also named to the All-MCC first team and MCC All-tournament team. St. Aubin's award came on the heels of a season that netted her on the All-MCC Newcomer team and All-MCC second team. St. Aubin set a freshman-record with a 0.93 GAA while posting four shutouts and a 6-3-0 record. A red-shirt last season, Mann played in nine games for the Panthers and notched two goals and one assist.

The Laura Moynihan award and the Susan Moynihan award are awarded annually to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's soccer players who best represent the spirit of these two women in soccer. Laura Moynihan, whose award is given only to seniors, coached UWM in 1991. Her daughter, Sue Moynihan, coached the Panthers from 1992-1997.
