MILWAUKEE (Dec. 4, 2001) - Senior midfielder Erin Blaedow was selected to the 2001 NSCAA All-Great Lakes Regional First Team, the National soccer Coaches Association of America announced today.

A three-year captain, Blaedow helped lead UWM to the NCAA Tournament after winning the Horizon League Tournament with tournament MVP honors. She was named the Horzion League Player of the Year after guiding UWM to the league's regular season championship. Milwaukee ended its season without allowing a single goal scored in the league and set school records for most wins and most shutouts with a 15-5 record.

Blaedow was the sole representative of the Horizon League on the all-region team. She joins the likes of Oakland's Anita Rapp and Notre Dame's Candace Champman and Monica Gonzalez to the first team. Also named to the first team were: Abby Crumptom of Michigan, Andrea Cunningham of Miami (Ohio), Kate Gordon of Marquette, Ann Thomas and Christy Hoffman of Cincinnati, Amy Sullivant of Michigan and Erin Showaler of Dayton.
