UWM Women's Soccer To Gather At Gasthaus For NCAA Tournament Selection Show

Panthers will find out NCAA Tournament first round opponents Monday at 4 p.m.

MILWAUKEE, Wis. (Nov. 6, 2005) - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's soccer team will host an NCAA Pairings Party for players, coaches, fans and media Monday at the Gasthaus in the basement of the UWM Student Union. The Panthers claimed their fourth Horizon League Tournament Championship Sunday with a 4-3, penalty kick shootout win over Detroit.

Milwaukee players and coaches will gather at the Gasthaus at 4 p.m. for the announcement of NCAA Tournament pairings to be carried live on ESPNNEWS. The show will announce first round opponents and sites for the 64 teams that have earned berths in the national tournament. Head coach Michael Moynihan and UWM players will be available for interviews following the announcement of the Panthers' first round opponent.

UWM enters its fourth NCAA Tournament with a 12-4-4 record, led by All-Horizon League First Team honorees Erin Kane, Sarah Teegarden and Ginny Graczyk. The league regular season champs as well, Milwaukee also placed Janice McGann and Amanda Winn on the league's second team. The Panthers previously earned NCAA Tournament berths in 1997, 2001 and 2002. The 2001 and 2002 squads remained local, playing first round games across town at Marquette's Valley Field.
