MILWAUKEE-The MCC announced the women's soccer postseason award winners earlier this week and released the All-Tournament team selection today. Winning the regular season title and entering the conference tournament as the first seed, the Panthers were recognized in every category.

Senior defender Fanta Cooper (Oklahoma City, Okla./Westmoore) was named Co-Player of the Year, freshman forward Lisa Bengtsson (Uppsala, Sweden) was selected as Co-Newcomer of the Year, and UWM coach Michael Moynihan was named Co-Coach of the Year.

Cooper, last year's sole MCC Player of the Year, played a pivotal role in the Panthers' defense that shutout six opponents, including four against conference opponents. Bengtsson led all newcomers in scoring with 17 points on seven goals and three assists during the season. This is the second Coach of the Year award for Moynihan during his career, who also earned the honor in 1997.

Sophomore forward Kristin Munyon (Omaha, Neb./Burke), who led the Panthers in scoring on 22 points (9 goals, 4 assists), was selected first team All-Conference, joined by junior midfielder Erin Blaedow (West Allis, Wis./Central) and Cooper. Senior midfielder Lindsey Munkwitz (Waukesha, Wis./Catholic Memorial), freshman goalkeeper Kerri St. Aubin (Sterlingh Heights, Mich./Utica), and Bengtsson were named to the second team. St. Aubin and Bengtsson both were selected to the MCC All-Newcomer team.

Beating Butler 1-0 in the semifinal round and losing to Wright State 1-0 in the championship game, UWM placed four Panthers on the MCC All-Tournament Team. Senior defender Katie Waltenberger (Racine, Wis./Horlick) joined Cooper, Blaedow, and Munyon on the team in recognition of outstanding tournament performances.
