Chudy Garners Player of the Week AwardElizabeth Chudy ended the regular season in 2003 as she did in 2002, as the Nike Horizon League Player of the Week. The Milwaukee-native helped lead the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's soccer team to a 2-1 record this past week.The sophomore midfielder notched a goal in Wednesday's game against in-state rival Wisconsin. Chudy then preceeded to cap off her week by leading the Panthers (9-8-1) back from an early 1-0 deficit against Northwestern by scoring two goals enroute to a 2-1 victory Sunday afternoon. The two-goal performance against Northwestern paved the way for Chudy to end the regular season as the Panthers' leading goal-scorer.
Liz Chudy and the Panther women's soccer team will return to action on Friday, November 7 at the Horizon League Soccer Tournament. The tournament is set to kick off Thursday, November 6 with the Panthers seeded No. 1 and receiving a first-round bye. The squad will play the winner of Wright State vs. Detroit on Friday, November 7 at 5:00 p.m. at Loyola Soccer Park.
