Shipway Named Horizon League Player Of The Week
MILWAUKEE, Wis. (Oct. 22, 2007) - Senior Pam Shipway of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's soccer team has been named the Horizon League Player of the Week for Oct. 22, the league office announced today. It is the first weekly honor in Shipway's career. She is the second Panther to earn the award this season, following junior Erin Kane Sept. 24. Shipway scored points in all three games last week, leading Milwaukee to a 3-0 record. She finished the week with two goals and an assist, tallying game-winning goals Tuesday against Loyola and again Friday vs. Cleveland State. She then assisted on the second goal in UWM's 2-0 win over Wright State Sunday. That win clinched the Panthers' eighth-straight Horizon League regular season championship. Milwaukee closes out its regular season this week, taking on No. 3 Texas A&M Friday in College Station, Texas.
