MILWAUKEE, Wis. (Oct. 20, 2009) - Sophomore Sarah Hagen of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's soccer team has been named the Soccer America National Player of the Week, the publication announced Tuesday.

Hagen, who has added a prolific amount of awards to her resume this season, is the second Panther to earn national POW honors. Erin Kane was honored by the NSCAA in 2006.

Meanwhile, her inclusion on Soccer America's National Team of the Week marks her third-straight week on the list.

From Soccer America:

"Sophomore Sarah Hagen, who extended her goal scoring streak to nine games with all three goals in a 2-0 win at Detroit and 1-0 victory over Wright State that gave Wisconsin-Milwaukee the Horizon League regular-season title, is the Soccer America Women's Player of the Week for games played Oct. 12-18."

Hagen's scoring barrage has her among the nation's elite in goals and points. Her 19 scores and 42 points on the year are second, while her per-game averages are fourth (1.118 goals/game) and sixth (2.47 points/game). She holds healthy leads in both categories in the league, including 11 goals more than second (8) and 24 points more than the second-most (senior teammate Kate Megna, 18).

So far this season, the Appleton, Wis., native has garnered three NTOW honors from Soccer America, two from TopDrawerSoccer.com and been named Horizon League Player of the Week in each of the past five weeks.

The regular season comes to a close Friday for Milwaukee, which has already wrapped up a 10th-straight league title and hosting rights for the league tourney as the No. 1 seed. The Panthers travel to Green Bay to take on the Phoenix. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Aldo Santaga Stadium.
