Teegarden Named Horizon League Player Of The Week

Senior midfielder tallied game-winner and three assists last week

MILWAUKEE, Wis. (Oct. 20, 2008) - Senior Sarah Teegarden of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's soccer team has been named the Horizon League Player of the Week for Oct. 20, the league office announced today.

The award is the second-straight for a Milwaukee player and the team's fourth this season. Meanwhile, this is Teegarden's third career weekly honor. Freshman Sarah Hagen earned the honor last week, as well as Aug. 25, while junior Kate Megna picked up the award Sept. 22.

In the Panthers' only game last week, Teegarden scored the game-winning goal and assisted on three others in a 5-0 win over Butler. UWM and the Bulldogs were among the three teams tied for first place heading into the match. Teegarden got the scoring started in the 13th minute and assisted on three more scores in the second half as the Panthers ran away with the match.

Teegarden and the Panthers return to action this weekend, hosting Detroit and Valparaiso in their final two games of the regular season. The Titans come to Engelmann Field Friday and the Crusaders Sunday.
