MILWAUKEE--Kristin Munyon (Omaha, Neb./Burke), a sophomore defender on the UWM women's soccer team, has been named the Brine MCC Player of the Week, the league office announced today.

In a thrilling, hard-fought battle against regionally-ranked Illinois State on Friday, Munyon stepped-up in double-overtime to score the game-winner in the 107th minute to lift the Panthers to victory, 4-3. She also scored the equalizer during regulation time, heading in a corner kick by senior Lindsey Munkwitz to even the score, 3-3. In UWM's 2-0 victory over MCC foe Wright State, Munyon assisted on the first goal scored by freshman Lisa Bengtsson.

Picked to finish first in the MCC preseason poll of coaches, UWM currently carries sole possession of first place in the conference with a 2-0 standing. The Panthers' next game and MCC match-up comes against rival Detroit at home on Friday, October 6th, at 4 p.m.
