Graczyk Earns Player Of The Week HonorsSept. 29, 2003 INDIANAPOLIS, IND. - What a week it was for the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee women's soccer team as a unit and freshman defender Ginny Graczyk as an individual. The Libertyville, Ill.-native was named the Horizon League Player of the Week here Monday (Sept. 29) due to her role in a pair of UWM victories. Graczyk began the week in fine form, scoring her first career goal in Milwaukee's 3-2 overtime upset of crosstown rival Marquette on Wednesday. The goal, which came on a 20-yard free kick, was the first of the freshman's career. Then, on Sunday, Graczyk continued her scoring binge, tallying assists on all three UWM goals in a thrilling 3-2 double OT victory over league foe Wright State. The three assists in a single-game are the most by a Milwaukee player since a former No. 16, Amy Oechsner, notched three assists on Sept. 9, 2001.
Graczyk has now scored at least one point in three consecutive games and leads the team and is fourth in the league with four assists on the season. UWM will return to action on Friday (Oct. 3) with a 6:00 p.m. showdown at the University of Cincinnati.
