UWM Soccer Moves Remaining Home Games Off Campus

Engelmann Field will not host UWM soccer in 1999

Milwaukee - UWM men's and women's soccer home games scheduled for Engelmann Field will be played at Uihlein Soccer Park (76th and Good Hope), it was announced today. Game dates for all competitions will remain the same, but several afternoon start times have been pushed back and are now night games.

The turf of Engelmann Field, which was redone this summer, will not be able to host any games this season.

The men's soccer team opens its home season by hosting the Panther Invitational on Sept. 11-12 at Bavarian Soccer Complex (700 W. Lexington Blvd. in Glendale). The Panthers will make their Uihlein debut on Sept. 15 against Marquette. Gametime is now 7:30 p.m. Games against UIC (Sept. 30), and Northern Illinois (Oct. 20) will now begin at 7:00 p.m. The Oct. 22 game against Wisconsin will still be held at Wisconsin Lutheran College at 7:30 p.m.

The women's soccer team makes its Uihlein debut on Sept. 18-19, when they play host to the Panther PRIMECO Classic. Gametimes that are pushed to 7:00 p.m. for the women include contests against Marquette (Sept. 21), Villanova (Oct. 1), Loyola (Oct. 5), and Creighton (Oct. 15).
