MILWAUKEE - UWM women's soccer coach Michael Moynihan has announced that four high school seniors have signed National Letters of Intent.

The four new players include two from the Milwaukee area and two from the State of Nebraska. The four players are Emily Jessen (Omaha, Neb./Marian), Katie Kubacki (Milwaukee, Wis./Pius), Kristin Munyon (Omaha, Neb./Burke) and Amy Oechner (Hartford, Wis./Hartford). All four will have freshman eligibility for the 1999 season.

Jessen, who chose UWM over Creighton and Illinois State, is a forward/midfielder who will add to the Panthers' quickness.

"She is still developing and is a tremendous athlete," said Moynihan. "She has a lot of untapped potential and we are looking for her to be an impact player for us in the future."

Kubacki is a midfield/defender who chose the Panthers over Cincinnati and Rhode Island. She is a three-time all-conference selection and helped Pius to a pair of state championships.

"She is one of the top local players," said Moynihan. "She should step in and contribute right away. She has good vision and is more of the playmaker type. She will help with our possession game."

Munyon, a defender, is a teammate of Jessen on their club team, Gladiator. She played on the Olympic Development Program Regional team until a knee injury sidelined her.

"Kristin gives us a physical presence and she is excellent in the air. She is coming off of a ACL injury, and a lot of schools backed away. But she is coming back strong. She has something to prove. We are looking for her to contribute right away."

Oechner is a midfielder/forward who was a first team All-Little Ten Conference selection.

"Amy's a local player who never got involved in ODP until last year. She played a lot of sports, but now she is just focusing on soccer. We expect that she will have an impact," said Moynihan.
