MILWAUKEE - Sophomore defender Fanta Cooper (Oklahoma City, Okla.-Westmoore) was named to the 1998 All-Great Lakes Region First Team, Soccer Buzz announced yesterday.

Cooper helped lead the team to a 10-5-3 record in 1998. She was named to the All-MCC First Team and earned Central Florida Classic MVP honors. She scored the game-tying goal against No. 8 Nebraska on Sept. 4 with 30 seconds left in regulation. The Panthers went on to upset the Cornhuskers in overtime. The Panther defense allowed just two goals in the last seven games of the season.
