UWM Women's Soccer Falls to No. 11 BYU
Sept. 9, 1999 PROVO, Utah - The UWM women's soccer team fell to Brigham Young, ranked 11th in the nation, in Provo, Utah, on Thursday. "We ran into a buzzsaw tonight. They are a very good team," said UWM head coach Michael Moynihan. "But the result is still disappointing." Despite recording the first shots of the game and putting together some quality scoring opportunities, the Panthers fell behind early, 3-0. "At first it seemed like we would be in it. We had the first few shots of the game and a couple of good scoring chances. But then we gave up a few goals," said Moynihan. "We didn't have the same mentality as we did against Minnesota." UWM junior forward Stefanie Hosni scored for the Panthers in the 68th minute. Senior goalkeeper Liz Ulicki recorded nine saves for the Panthers.
UWM plays Arizona on Saturday in Provo.
