VALPARAISO, IND.-Junior forward Amy Oechsner tallied three assists to help lead UWM over Valparaiso, 3-0, Sunday afternoon

The Panthers (2-2) got on the board early when sophomore Megan Mann scored just 49 seconds into the match, connecting on a cross sent in by Oechsner. The Panthers took the 1-0 lead into halftime, but scored in the 48th minute when sophomore Emily Jessen headed in another Oechsner cross. UWM received its final goal when sophomore Evann Franklin controlled down Oechsner's cross and finished past goalkeeper Rose Holtkamp.

UWM's defense did not allow a single shot on goal and recorded 18 shots against the Crusaders, including 12 on goal. Sophomore Kerri St. Aubin and junior Mary Duffy split time in net for UWM, with neither recording any saves on the game.

"We dominated pretty thoroughly today," UWM coach Michael Moynihan said. "It got a little bit wet and sloppy because of the field conditions, but overall I was happy with the chances we created. It's a nice way to head into next weekend's tournament when we go against two tough teams."

Moynihan's Panthers travel to Knoxville, Tenn., to take part in the Tennessee Invitational. UWM plays No. 21 Tennessee on Friday night at 7 p.m., and Vanderbilt on Sunday at noon.
