Chris Maravalli is in his third season as an assistant coach at Milwaukee. Among his duties are working with the goalkeepers, assisting in recruiting, training session preparation and match management. "Chris has been a great addition to the staff," head coach Michael Moynihan said. "He has great experience as a goalkeeper and does a great job training our keepers. Chris is very ambitious and hard-working. He has been a good fit for our program." In his two seasons at Milwaukee, Panther goalkeepers have combined for a 0.77 goals against average and 22 shutouts. Former keeper Erin Kane also capped her career with four all-league first-team awards and broke almost every goalkeeping record the program keeps. She went on to play professionally, signing with St. Louis Athletica of Women's Professional Soccer (WPS). Maravalli currently serves as a staff coach for FC Milwaukee, working with the US Development Academy boys teams, Elite Club National League senior girls program and club goalkeepers. He has also coached with the Shorewood Kickers U14 boys team and is a staff coach with the girls Region II Olympic Development Program. Maravalli spent the 2006 season as an assistant at Castleton State College in a similar capacity, including working with the Spartan goalkeepers. That season, CSC keepers finished with 150 saves and five shutouts. Maravalli is currently a director at the SoccerPlus Goalkeeper School, which is regarded as the top goalkeeping school in the country and is run by former U.S. National Team coach Tony DiCicco. He has also served as a coach with the Rutland County Soccer Club. Maravalli earned his undergraduate degree from Castleton State in 2007, where he completed his major in English with a minor in film studies. He began his collegiate career at Hobart College. He was a two-year letterwinner on the nationally-ranked men's soccer team and earned a training contract with Grecia FC and FC Zapotal of the Costa Rica 2nd Division professional league in 2004. He has played keeper for Addison United of the Vermont Amateur Soccer League and with the Vermont Voltage of the Professional Development League. Maravalli has a USSF `C' license and `Level 3' goalkeeping license. He also holds an NSCAA Regional Diploma and National Goalkeeping Diploma. |
