Panthers Complete Recruiting Class With Jorgenson
MILWAUKEE, Wis. (April 17, 2008) - Danielle Jorgenson, a senior at Logan High School in La Crosse, Wis., has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and join the women's basketball team, head coach Sandy Botham announced today. Jorgenson is one of two players the Panthers signed for the 2008-09 season. Amanda Viehauser of Minneapolis, Minn., signed in November. "Danielle will continue the tradition of outstanding post players here at Milwaukee," Botham said. "She can score from inside and out, rebound and block shots, and is very skilled. She has the ability to contribute immediately after a spectacular high school career. We are thrilled to have her here." A 6-foot-3 post player, Jorgenson averaged 16.2 points and 9.3 rebounds on her way to Mississippi Valley Conference Player of the Year honors and a second-straight La Crosse Tribune Player of the Year award. Logan went 19-4 this past season, winning a third-straight conference championship as well as a regional title. She was also named to the WBCA All-State First Team and the Associated Press' All-State Second Team. As a junior, she averaged 13 points and 9.3 rebounds per game while leading the Rangers to a 22-4 record and berth in the WIAA Division 1 state semifinals. Jorgenson finished her prep career second in school history with 1,057 points and will play in the WBCA All-Star Game this summer in Madison.
