MILWAUKEE - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee is set to host a quarterfinal game and the semifinals and finals of the 2004 Horizon League Women's Basketball Tournament this week. UWM will host Illinois-Chicago in a quarterfinal game on Thursday (March 4) and will then earn hosting rights for the final two rounds should it advance past the quarterfinals. All games will be played at the Klotsche Center on the UWM campus.

Thursday's showdown with UIC will mark one of four league quarterfinals, with each game being played at the site of the higher seed. The Panthers, as the No. 2 seed will host the 7th seeded Flames while the No. 3 seed Detroit, will host 6th seeded Butler in Detroit. On the opposite bracket, the tournament's No. 1 seed, UW-Green Bay, will face the winner of Tuesday's play-in game between No. 8 Wright State and No. 9 Youngstown State. The final quarterfinal game will feature No. 5 Butler at No. 4 Cleveland State.

If UWM defeats UIC on Thursday, the winners of all the other quarterfinals will travel to Milwaukee for the semifinal round which is set for Sunday (March 7). UWM would play in the 2:00 p.m. game versus the Detroit/Loyola winner while the winner of the UWGB/first round winner will face the winner of the CSU/Butler contest. The second semifinal is set for 4:30 p.m.
