Women's Basketball Ranks Sixth in Free-Throw Percentage

Von Wald ranks third among individuals; Luchsinger ranks 21st

Milwaukee - The UWM women's basketball team ranks sixth in the nation in team free-throw percentage, according to stats released by the NCAA on Wednesday.

The Panthers, who lead the MCC in the category, are hitting their free throws at a .765 clip. Only Oakland, Niagara, Western Michigan, San Francisco and St. Bonaventure have better team free-throw percentages.

In the NCAA individual statistics, sophomore guard Corrin Von Wald (Hudson, Wis./Hudson) moved up to third place this week in free-throw percentage (.885). She ranked sixth in the nation last week. Nicole Luchsinger (Janesville, Wis./Parker) moved to 21st in the nation this week (.856), up from 24th last week.

The Panthers (13-10, 7-3 MCC) are currently in second place in the MCC and play Loyola in Chicago on Thursday.
