Krowd The Klotsche Set For Saturday at 2 p.m.
Feb. 12, 2001 MILWAUKEE - UWM women's basketball is hosting its annual "Krowd the Klotsche" this Saturday, Feb. 17, for the game against in-state and conference rival UW-Green Bay. The 2 p.m. game will be an MCC showdown between league-leader Green Bay and second-place Milwaukee, who is hoping to grab a share of the top slot. Free tickets are available at all North Shore Banks in the greater Milwaukee area as well as in Green Bay. This will be the fifth year that UWM coach Sandy Botham has promoted "Krowd the Klotsche" at UWM. Coach Botham hopes to surpass the school attendance record of 2,629 fans set on February 20, 1999 against Green Bay. "We're looking forward to playing in front of a big home crowd on Saturday in such a huge game," said Botham. "We started this event to bring added attention to our basketball program, and in the process, have been fortunate to set attendance records."
UWM currently posts a 7-2 record in the MCC, with losses coming away at Green Bay and Detroit. Green Bay carries a 7-1 conference record heading into Saturday's game against the Panthers, who are on an 11-game conference winning streak at home. Milwaukee won all seven of their MCC games at home last year, and are 4-0 in conference play so far this season.
