UW-Milwaukee Head Coach Sandy Botham

Opening Statement
"It has been a dream season for Wisconsin-Milwaukee and it is always sad to see a run like this end. I was very proud of our players and I thought they executed the gameplan and came in with a lot of poise and confidence. They really played with Michigan State for 25 to 30 minutes. We talked about how Michigan State can be so explosive. They are a team that does a great job when they go on runs. They are a team that really thrives on pushing it out and they do a great job of taking advantage of our turnovers. They went on one run and it was one run that beat us. There were a couple of runs in the first half that we responded well to and it was the run in the second half that was the difference. I am proud of our athletes and this is going to be a great experience for years to come."

On the experience for her players
"They're (Michigan State) used to playing 40 minutes of physical, Big Ten basketball and our players are just learning how to play at that level. That's where we are excited about the future of the program and the experience that they (UW-Milwaukee) are getting out of this game is going to bode well for years to come."

Nichole Drummond

On playing in the NCAA Tournament for the first time
"It was a great experience and it is an experience like this that I will remember for my whole career as a basketball player. Even though we did come out with a loss, it was one of the most memorable moments I will ever have in my whole career."

Molly O'Brien

On the potential for an upset
"In the first half we were up by four points and Michigan State looked really frustrated. Our team saw that so we tried to take it at them and increase the lead. At halftime we were only down by one. We looked at that as a positive and kept on trying to bring it."

Traci Edwards

On the second half performance
"It was very frustrating. The offense wasn't really clicking in that one stretch where they went on a run. It was really frustrating and I am sure it was frustrating for the guards too."

On Liz Shimek
"In the first half she didn't really do much but in the second half she came alive. She played to her strengths, she was open a lot and she hit her shots."
