Notes
Head Coach Sandy Botham
On halftime adjustments
"We weren't really in the moment with our intensity in the first half. I felt our energy was down, it felt like we were moping out there and it wasn't going as we had planned. (At halftime) we talked about energy and being more aggressive. Loyola was more aggressive and more physical in the first half and we weren't matching that, intensity and physically."
On facing Butler in the semifinals
"We have to worry about Butler. Last time we played them on our home court, they beat us. We have to keep controlling our own destiny."
On the prospect of an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament
"It would be great leverage for our league to get an at-large bid, to get to that next level."
On the importance of the team's defense
"We have to bring our defense to every game because offense will come and go. It's the defense that will win us a championship. We know we can get ourselves back in the rhythm offensively."
On playing the rest of the tournament at home
"It's great to know we don't have to jump on a plane and go play (in Youngstown). We are happy to have the final four at home. Being at home will help us with our routine. This team has worked extremely hard for this."
Sophomore Guard Meredith Onson
On her first Horizon League Tournament game
"It was a nice win and we won by a lot, so we have a lot of confidence going into Sunday's game."
Freshman Center Traci Edwards
On senior leadership
"The team, and especially the seniors, were very supportive during the preseason and they are not afraid to come up and tell me when I'm not practicing well."
