Hawley Named League Scholar-Athlete Of The Week

Panther runner led team to fourth-place finish at Falcon Invitational

MILWAUKEE, Wis. (Oct. 17, 2006) - Junior Nick Hawley, of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's cross country team, was named the Horizon League Men's Scholar-Athlete of the Week, the league office announced today.

It is the first league honor of Hawley's career.

Last weekend, Hawley led the Panthers to fourth-place at the Falcon Invitational. He took eighth place with a time of 26:01.73 in leading the team for its second-straight meet. Milwaukee was the top-finishing league team of the four that competed in the 13-team field.

In the classroom, Hawley boasts a 3.554 grade point average and is majoring in kinesiology.

The Panthers are off until competing at the Horizon League Championship, Oct. 28, in Indianapolis, Ind.
