Weiland Leads UWM To 14th At NCAA Regional

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (Nov. 12, 2005) - Senior Nate Weiland finished 38th to lead the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's cross country team to a 14th-place showing at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional, Saturday afternoon in Bloomington, Ind. UWM scored 428 points in improving one place over last season, as Wisconsin won the meet with 49.

Weiland finished the 8000m course with a time of 32:25, while senior Josh Nygren also placed among the top 60. Nygren crossed the line in 32:56 for 59th place. Sophomore Nick Hawley rounded out the team's top-100 finishers, taking 84th in 33:36.

Juniors Justin Gorman and Ben Uphoff also scored at the meet. Gorman was 113th in 34:18 and Uphoff placed 134th in 35:02. Sophomore RJ Pire also ran, finishing in 35:25 for 145th.
