Three Freshmen Represent Panthers At Lakefront InviteOct. 1, 2005
CHICAGO, Ill. - Three Panthers represented the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's cross country team at the Loyola Lakefront Invitational, Saturday morning in Chicago. Because UWM did not field five runners, it was unable to register a team score. Head coach Pete Corfeld held back the majority of the team in preparation for the NCAA Pre-National Invitational, Oct. 15, in Terre Haute, Ind. The Pre-Nat Invite is the next meet for the Panthers. A trio of freshmen ran for Milwaukee, led by Kyle Soukop, who ran a time of 27:29 for 165th place. High school teammates Nick Porter and Steve Vesbach also ran at the meet, taking 188th and 208th place. Porter ran a time of 27:48, while Vesback finished in 28:15.
