Three Panthers In Top 100 At Roy Griak

MINNEAPOLIS, Min.. - Three Panthers finished among the top 100 as the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's cross country team took 23rd-place the the roy Griak Invitational, Saturday afternoon in Minneapolis, Minn. BYU took top honors with 117 points, while UWM scored 563.

Senior Josh Nygren was the top Milwaukee finisher, taking 74th with a time of 25:36. Senior Nate Weiland was 93rd and junior Ben Uphoff placed 97th for the Panthers. Weiland posted a time of 25:53 and Uphoff was just four seconds back in 25:57.

Sophomore Nick Hawley and junior Justin Gorman also scored for UWM. Hawley crossed the line in 26:35 for 137th and Gorman in 27:21 for 162nd. Also running for the Panthers was freshman Kyle Soukop in 175th-place (27:50) and sophomore RJ Pire in 179th (28:15).

UWM returns to action next weekend with the Loyola Lakefront Invitational Saturday, Oct. 1, in Chicago, Ill. The first race gets unerway at 11 a.m.
