Panthers Break School Relay Record At Regionals5/30/2009 - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's track and field team broke the school 4x400m relay record to close out the 2009 NCAA Mideast Regional Championships Saturday. Senior Patrick Casey, juniors Tyler Bucholz and Isaiah Adams and sophomore Cory Yttre combined on a time of 3:09.32. That eclipsed the time of 3:10.68 the quartet ran in winning the Horizon League Championship earlier this month. That time also topped their section, but was 11th overall. The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's and women's track and field teams wrapped up the first day of competition at the 2009 NCAA Mideast Regional Championships Friday. Senior Holly Nearman was the day's top finisher, taking 14th in the women's 5000m. She crossed the line in 17:15.94. In all, the Panthers competed in seven of the nine events it has scheduled. The meet concludes Saturday, with freshman Ben Crogan competing in the pole vault and the men's 4x400m relay closing out the meet. Ten members of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's and women's track and field teams will head to Louisville, Ky., this weekend for the NCAA Mideast Regional Championships, hosted by the University of Louisville. The Panther men will have seven athletes competing over six events in seniors Adam Schleis (long jump) and Patrick Casey (4x400m relay), juniors Tyler Bucholz (200m, 4x400m), Isaiah Adams (400m, 4x400m) and Quinn Mongoven (high jump), sophomore Cory Yttre (4x400m) and freshman Ben Crogan (pole vault). On the women's side, senior Holly Nearman (5000m) and juniors Kelsey Conrad (200m) and Erin Havener (pole vault) will also be vying for places at the NCAA Championships, June 10-13, in Fayetteville, Ark.
