Majors Named League Athlete Of The WeekMILWAUKEE, Wis. (Feb. 21, 2007) - Senior Jeremy Majors of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's track and field team has been named the Horizon League Athlete of the Week for Feb. 19, the league office announced today. The award is the second of the year for Majors and the third of his career. Freshman Quinn Mongoven has also earned the honor this season for Milwaukee. Majors won two events for the Panthers at the UWM Double Dual last weekend, breaking the school and Klotsche Center record to win the 400m and topping the field in the 200m. In the 400m, Majors crossed the line in 48.33 to break the 23-year old field house mark and the school-record time of 48.58 set in 2003. He also ran a time of 22.33 in the 200m, posting the fifth-best time in school history. His 400m time leads the league, while his 200m time is second to teammate Trentin Edwards. Milwaukee posted a 2-0 record at the Double Dual, notching wins against league foes Loyola and UIC. Majors and the Panthers are back in action this weekend at the 2007 Horizon League Indoor Championships Friday and Saturday in Ann Arbor, Mich. The meet gets underway both days at 9 a.m.
