Panthers Wrap Up Busy Weekend At Marquette Invite

MILWAUKEE, Wis. (April 26, 2008) - Junior Josh Zill, sophomore Quinn Mongoven and freshman Andrew Manuel each posted a pair of top-five finishes to lead the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's track and field team on the final day of a busy weekend at the Marquette Invitational Saturday.

Milwaukee also competed at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa, wrapping that meet up Saturday with the finals of the 4x100m relay. The Panthers also competed at the Kip Janvrin Open in Indianola, Iowa, which is 20 miles away from Drake, on Friday.

Mongoven placed fourth in both the long and triple jump events on Saturday in Milwaukee. He leapt 21-9 1/2 in the long jump and 42-1 1/4 in the triple jump. Junior Josh Zill took third in the triple jump with a distance of 44-5 1/2. Zill added a fifth-place finish in the 400m hurdles with a time of 59.96.

Manuel competed in the 200m and 400m events, running a time of 22.94 in the 200m for fourth place. In the 400m, he crossed the line in 54.06 for fifth place.

Senior Larry Ehrhorn had the team's best finish of the day, taking second in the shot put. He threw 51-1 3/4 to finish as runner-up. Junior Eric Pitt rounded out the top-five finishers with a time of 10:10.17 in the 3000m steeplechase. That time put him third in the event.
