LAWRENCE, Kan - The combination of Adam Hobler, Elliot Enright, Eric Gresham and Jeremy Majors had a stellar day for the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's track and field team. The four athletes combined to place third (3:13.30) in the 1600-meter relay in the 77th Annual Kansas Relays Friday night. With their time, the four athletes will be representing UWM in Saturday's 1600-meter relay finals.

"It's really great to see our guys qualify for the finals," Panther head coach Pete Corfeld said. "The guys are pumped and are really looking forward to the challenge of running against the two teams that placed ahead of them (Lincoln University and North Dakota State University)".

Milwaukee also had a strong showing from the group of Andy Kivioja, Ben Uphoff, Nate Weiland and Josh Nygren. The four Panthers finished third (17:56.04) in the four-mile relay. Justin Gorman, Billy McCarthy, Adam Swanson and Josh Nygren also joined together to finish fourth in the distance medley relay.

On the individual side, Adam Hobler added an 11th-place finish (49.05) in the 400-meter run and Nick Wichert claimed 13th (151'11" ) in the hammer throw for UWM.

"Today was a pretty good day for both our teams," Corfeld said. "When you travel this far, you want to see results and it's good to be seeing them. With the type of training we've been doing, we're ahead of schedule and it's fun to see."
