Panther Relays Shine At Big Blue Classic
CHARLESTON, Ill. (April 5, 2008) - Both Panther relays finished among the top two and ran the second-fastest times in school history in leading the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's track and field team on the final day of the Big Blue Classic Saturday at Eastern Illinois. The 4x100m relay was victorious with a time of 40.87. That time is just 0.19 seconds off the school record set last season. Meanwhile, in the 4x400m relay, UWM also threatened the school record, taking second in 3:11.95. That time is just 0.83 seconds off the school standard. Sophomore Tyler Bucholz was the top individual finisher on the meet's second day, winning the 200m in a personal-best 21.39. While it is a personal-best time, he inched closer to the school record of 21.02. Sophomore Isaiah Adams also cracked Milwaukee's top 10 and finished in the top five. He ran a time of 21.96 for fourth on the day and to move into eighth all-time. In the 100m, Bucholz was the team's top finisher in third with a time of 10.97. Milwaukee had three top-five finishers in the 110m hurdles, led by senior Justin Bohler in second place in 14.95. Sophomore Josh Zill took third in 15.10 and junior Adam Schleis was fifth in 15.35. Zill ran a personal-best time of 15.08 in the preliminaries, which pushed him to ninth in school history. In the triple jump, Zill also improved his historical standing, taking fourth with a leap of 47-6 ¼. That distance puts him seventh in school history. Zill was not the team's top finisher, however, as senior Darren Cole jumped 48-8 ¾ for third. Senior Larry Ehrhorn and junior Sean Jaehnig rounded out the team's top-five finishers on Saturday. Ehrhorn threw a personal-best 50-8 ¼ to take third in the shot put. In the pole vault, Jaehnig had a final height of 14-7 ¼ to take fifth. Junior Adam Podd was seventh in the event, clearing 14-1 ¼.
