Cole Paces Panthers On Final Day Of Iowa State Classic
AMES, Iowa (Feb. 16, 2008) - Senior Darren Cole took fifth in the triple jump to lead the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's track and field team on the final day of the Iowa State Classic Saturday. Cole leapt 48-2 1/2 for his place in the event. Milwaukee also got top-20 finishes from junior Adam Schleis and senior Lynn Koepke. Schleis finished 12th in the semifinals of the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.22. He also competed in the preliminaries of the 60m, taking 41st, but finishing in 7.16. That time ranks him seventh in school history in the event. Koepke competed in the unseeded 400m event and also took 12th. He crossed the line in 51.02. Junior Patrick Casey also had a positive showing on the meet's final day, running in the seeded 400m event. He ran a personal-best time of 49.74 in the event. The Panthers return to action with its only home meet of the 2008 season, the UWM Panther Tune-Up, next Friday at the Klotsche Center.
