SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Men and Women's diving team had a great first day at the Notre Dame Diving Invitational on Thursday. The men's team found themselves with three top-15 finishers on the 1-meter board and the women chipped in four top-10 finishes on the 3-meter board.

Making waves on the 1-meter board for the men was Joel Mauer, Jeff Jasinowski and Corey Kupfer. Mauer finished his day with a ninth-place finish with a total score of 206.05 points. Jasinowski added a 10th-place finish with 205.35 points and Corey Kupfer rounded out the day by finishing 12th with 203.70 points.

On the women's side, the Panthers received strong efforts on the 3-meter board. Hannah Burgard, Becky Rubel, Crystal Szymanski and Erin Blemberg all finished within the top-10. Burgard closed her day as the Panther's highest finisher with 401.20 points. Becky Rubel added a sixth-place finish by tallying 377.90 points. Rounding out the efforts were Crystal Szymanski, finishing eighth with 364.10 points, and Erin Blemberg, finishing 10th with 361.20 points.

The diving portion of the invitational will resume tomorrow at 1:00 p.m.
