Waldhart Earns League Scholar-Athlete Of The Week Honors

MILWAUKEE - Junior Jeremy Waldhart of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's swimming team has been named the U.S. Army Horizon League Scholar-Athlete of the Week, the league office announced today. This marks the second time he has been selected for the honor in his career. Waldhart started the week with a strong showing against Wright State Friday, winning the 100 backstroke in a time of 53.56, the 200 backstroke in 1:54.03 and taking second in the 200 IM in a time of 1:59.22. He followed that up with three victories in three tries Saturday against Wheaton College. He led UWM to the dual meet victory by winning the 1000 free in 10:12.22, the 400 IM in 4:15.24 and the 200 breaststroke in 1:16.11 to give him five wins in six individual events on the weekend. In the classroom, he carries a 3.95 GPA as a business major and has been named to the Dean's List every semester. In addition, he has been selected for the Academic Winter All-Horizon League team and was named ESPN The Magazine Second Team Academic All-District last spring.
