MILWAUKEE - University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee senior swimmer Josh Baseheart capped off a week of strong performances for the Panther swim team by winning the Horizon League Athlete of the Week award for the week of October 26, 2003

The Panther senior grabbed a trio of top three finishes last week in the Northwestern Dual meet (10/24) and Relay meet (10/26). Baseheart grabbed a first place finish in the 50-yard freestyle (21.19), second in the 100 freestyle (46.38), and a second place finish on the Panthers 200 medley relay team (1:36.59).

"Josh has started this season where he left off last season," Panther head coach Dave Clark commented. "His first sub-:46 second swim of last season in the 100 free came at Madison in early February. This year it happened at Madison in mid-October."

Baseheart, the 2003 Horizon League Swimmer of the Year, has won the Athlete of the Week award for the fourth time in his collegiate career at UW-Milwaukee.

Baseheart and the rest of the Panther swim team return to action Friday night, October 31. The squad will compete in Wheaton, Illinois against Wheaton College. The meet is set to begin at 5:30 p.m. and it will be swimming only.
