Waldhart Earns Second Team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Honors

One of just two league athletes to be named

MILWAUKEE - Sophomore Jeremy Waldhart of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's swimming team was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Second Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), the organization announced Thursday.

Waldhart won 10 races and took second six times on the season and was named to the Academic Winter All-Horizon League team this spring He carries the highest cumulative GPA on the men's swimming team at Milwaukee and set personal-bests in the 200 IM, 400 IM and both backstroke events during the season He also had an eight-race win streak in 200 backstroke, placing fourth in the event at the league championships. He also took sixth in the 400 IM and eighth in 200 IM at the championship meet.

In the classroom, he earned Horizon League Scholar-Athlete of the Week honors in February and has been on the Dean's List and a member of the Horizon League Academic Honor Roll each semester.

Waldhart, a biology major with a 3.98 GPA, was one of only two Horizon League student-athletes to be named to the two ESPN The Magazine at-large teams on Thursday.
