Horizon League Honors Leibold As Scholar-Athlete Of The Week

MILWAUKEE - Junior Robby Leibold of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's swimming team has been named the U.S. Army Horizon League Scholar-Athlete of the Week, the league office announced today. This marks the third time he has been selected for the honor this season and the fifth time he has won it in his career. Leibold won the 500 and 1,000 freestyle events to lead the Panthers past Western Illinois University on Saturday, giving UWM its third consecutive dual-meet victory. The junior posted a 4:48.87 clocking in the 500 event and finished the 1,000-yard event with a time of 9:37.25. He also finished second in the 200 butterfly and has won 18 times in 28 races this season. In the classroom, Leibold carries a 3.278 grade-point average as a health sciences major. Leibold and the Panthers close out the regular season at home this Saturday against Green Bay, with a starting time of 1 p.m. at the Klotsche Natatorium.
