FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Michael Belting and Josh Baseheart each collected a title in the 400m and 100m Time Trials Monday morning at the International Swimming Hall of Fame pool in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Belting won his heat by nearly two-tenths of a second in 4:24.40 to claim his title in the 400m freestyle, while Baseheart easily won the 100m freestyle in 53.73, nearly three seconds over LeRoy Stevens of UIC.

Peter Clark also snared a top-three finish in the 400m freestyle, finishing in 4:49.12. He was the only other Panther to swim in the longer event. Tim Watt was the next finisher in the 100m freestyle, placing sixth in 58.98. Ryan Frohmader was ninth in the same event, finishing in 59.38. Jason Procto, swimming backstroke, still finished 27th in 1:02.91, while Rob Vergeer swam butterfly and finished 31st in 1:03.77.

The Panthers return from their Florida training trip on Saturday and will have two weeks to prepare for the Bill Ritter Invitational. The invitational will begin with the diving competition at 11 a.m. on Jan. 24 at Schroeder YMCA in Brown Deer, Wis. The swimming competition will begin later that evening at the Klotsche Center Pool.
