Addie Ardelt begins her second season as an assistant coach for the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee swimming & diving team.

Her responsibilities with the Panther men and women include on-deck duties, timing of events, running the timing system during the meets, helping organize fundraising and with UWM recruiting efforts.

Prior to coming back to Milwaukee, Ardelt served a year internship at Eastern Connecticut State. While there, she worked in the sports information department through an NCAA-sponsored program which provides opportunities for women and minorities in college athletic administration.

Her prior coaching experience includes serving as an assistant at ECS, where she was in charge of all recruiting and fundraising efforts, on deck duties, meet line-ups and assisted in travel arrangements.

She also served as the junior varsity coach at Whitefish Bay High School in 2006 and coached the three-year old age group for the Baraboo Riptide Swim Team.

A Baraboo, Wis., native, Ardelt spent a year in the promotions department at Milwaukee radio station WKTI and was also a sports reporter for the UWM Post, a student newspaper. As a senior at UWM, Ardelt interned in the public relations department at Boelter and Lincoln Marketing Communication and also served as an assistant in the Panther Sports Information Office. She has also written sports stories for the Baraboo News Republic in her hometown.

Ardelt was a three-year member (2000-2003) of the swimming and diving team at UWM, competing in sprints and backstroke events. She received scholar-athlete accolades during her freshman season and graduated with a degree in journalism and mass communications.
