Gerard-Larson Named To Horizon Academic All-League Team12/18/2009 - Senior Nicholas Gerard-Larson of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's soccer team was named to the Horizon Academic All-League Team, the league office announced today. Gerard-Larson tied a career-high with 18 games played this year while starting 13 times. He recorded 14 shots, including seven on goal. The Dean's List member carries a 3.86 GPA as a history major. Jon Coleman will not return as the men's soccer coach at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Director of Athletics George Koonce announced today. Coleman has been the head coach for the past four seasons, compiling a 20-44-12 record. This season, the Panthers finished 3-13-2, falling to Valparaiso in the first round of the Horizon League Tournament. A national search for a replacement will begin immediately. Despite a strong first half showing, the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's soccer team suffered a 4-0 loss to Valparaiso University Tuesday afternoon at Brown Field. With the loss to the Crusaders (10-6-2) in the first round of the Horizon League Tournament, the Panthers (3-13-2) see their 2009 season come to a close. Milwaukee dominated possession and the run of play in the first half, but ended with nothing to show for it on the scoreboard. The Panthers created numerous chances with dangerous runs and passes, but were not able to put their quality opportunities on frame. Read Full Release |
