Badgers Escape With 1-0 Victory Over UWM In Regular Season Finale11/5/2009 - Pablo Delgado scored in the 89th minute to send the University of Wisconsin home a winner, claiming a 1-0 victory over the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's soccer team Thursday evening at Engelmann Field. The Badgers (7-8-2), who came in ranked No. 33 in the RPI index and in the mix for the Big Ten title this campaign, ended the Panthers (3-12-2) regular season schedule with their ninth one-goal defeat of the year. Freshman goalkeeper John Shakon played brilliantly in goal, making six saves - including several high-quality stops - but in the end it was Delgado's strike that ended it late in regulation. The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's soccer team closes out the regular season schedule this week when it hosts the University of Wisconsin Thursday night at Engelmenn Field. The game will have some historical significance as well, as the Panthers will be in search of all-time victory #200 on their home field. JC Banks scored his league-leading 12th goal of the season and assisted the other to lead the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay to a 2-0 victory over the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's soccer team on a cold Saturday night at Aldo Santaga Stadium. The Phoenix (12-2-2, 5-2-0 Horizon) gained the early momentum on Banks' 14th-minute goal before adding another in the second half to keep possession of the Chancellor's Cup in the yearly showdown with the Panthers (3-11-2, 2-4-2 Horizon).
