MILWAUKEE - University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's soccer players Antou Jallow and Trent Furtsch were recognized for their fine play this season as the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) named them to the All-Great Lakes Region Second-Team here Wednesday (Dec. 15). In addition, thanks to a successful in the NCAA Tournament the 2004 UWM men's soccer team finished the season ranked 24th in the final adidas/NSCAA Top 25 poll.

"It is great that two of our seniors were recognized for their fine play," UWM head coach Louis Bennett said. "We all know about Antou but it was nice to see Trent get some much deserved notice. He has been a great player here for four years and this is very well-deserved."

Jallow, one of the most decorated players in Horizon League history, ended his illustrious four-year career tops on the school's and the league's goals scored list with 60. Furthermore, Jallow racked up 133 career points, good for a first-place tie in league history and second place on the school charts. Jallow led Milwaukee and the league with 18 goals and 41 points in 2004.

Furtsch, a four-year starter at left back, was one of four Panthers to compete in four consecutive NCAA Tournament. A native of nearby Shorewood, Furtsch scored seven points on the year with two goals and three assists. For his career the 2004 Second-Team All-Horizon League pick scored 20 points on three goals and 14 assists.

Milwaukee will return seven starters from this season's 14-5-3 squad that advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The Panthers defeated No. 16 San Francisco 3-2 in the first round before dropping a 2-1 double OT decision to eventual national runner-up and No.2 ranked UC Santa Barbara.
