MILWAUKEE -- Senior forward Ryan Seymour and junior defender Chad Dombrowski were named to the 2001 NSCAA All-Great Lakes Regional First Team, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America announced today.
Seymour and Dombrowski helped lead UWM to an at-large bid into the NCAA Tournament, its first appearance since 1990. The Panthers finished the season ranked No. 19 in the nation and No. 2 in the Great Lakes. UWM's final record of 18-5 set a school record for most wins in a season.
Milwaukee also won the Horizon League Regular Season Championship after going undefeated in the league. Seymour was named the Horizon League Player of the Year, compliling 39 points to lead the league and UWM. Dombrowski, the Panthers' captain, was named to the all-league first team and tallied 21 points as an outside defender.
UWM and Indiana were the only universities to boast two players on the All-Great Lakes Regional First Team.
